Honorable Lawrence Bitrus Garki, the present Mandate Secretary to the Fct Abuja has been instrumental in bringing about positive change in the lives of the youth in the region. His tireless efforts and dedication have made a significant impact, and his story is one of hope and progress.

Lawrence Garki took office with a clear vision of empowering the youth in the six area councils of Abuja. His first task was to create a platform for the voices of the young generation to be heard. He initiated town hall meetings and open forums, providing a safe space for the youth to express their concerns, ideas, and dreams. This engagement helped bridge the gap between the government and the young people it serves.

One of his most notable achievements has been in the field of education. Recognizing the importance of quality education in shaping the future of the youth, Honorable Garki launched an initiative of youthrepresentative of the six area council of Abuja . This program has enabled hundreds of young people from underprivileged backgrounds to have hope and vocational training. The impact on the lives of these beneficiaries is immeasurable, as they now have access to opportunities they could only dream of before.

Another key area of focus for Honorable Garki has been youth employment. He initiated various job training programs and partnered with local government to create job opportunities for the youth. As a result, the unemployment rate among the young population in the area councils has seen a significant decline. Lawrence Garki's commitment to fostering economic growth and sustainability has been pivotal in improving the overall standard of living for the youth.

In addition to education and employment, Honorable Garki will also  championed numerous community development projects. He will facilitated the construction of youth centers in each area council, providing spaces for young people to engage in recreational activities, social events, and skill-building workshops. These centers will become hubs of positive social interaction and personal growth for the youth.

Notably, Lawrence Bitrus Garki has been a vocal advocate for gender equality. He has worked to ensure that opportunities and resources are equally accessible to young women, breaking down barriers and stereotypes that hinder their progress. Through his efforts, he has encouraged more young women to actively participate in politics and community leadership.

Under his leadership, the area councils will  witnessed a significant decrease in crime rates among the youth. Honorable Garki believes in the power of mentorship and will  implement  programs where successful individuals from various fields mentor and guide young people, steering them away from a life of crime and towards a path of productivity and achievement.

Finally,  the good work of Honorable Lawrence Bitrus Garki as the Mandate Secretary to the Fct Abuja  is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the betterment of the youth in the region. His initiatives in education, employment, community development, and gender equality will

I want to start by appreciating the man behind the success of Mr Lawrence Garki.

The appointment came as a surprise and not a surprised because in recent Mr Lawrence have committed himself for the success of the present government and leadership of apc in Abuja.

Lawrence has took it upon himself to make sure he mobilised youths across the 62 ward of fct and engage them with courage to come out and vote Renew Hope for Mr president.

More talks in the party as he's appointment came many who were not expecting and got shock of the News for his appointment as the mandate secretary fct area council.

According to ( anonymous) who lamented and said " we the stakeholders of Apc and party leadership are not part of the appointment given to Mr Lawrence" Some who described  and deliberately said  Mr Lawrence is a PDP member before and  keep saying they are not happy about the outcome and development from Mr president.

What can they do ?

Nothing it's a win win for all

He's appointment, has pave way not to be a burden to our first ever minister of special duties and inter governmental to Mr president,  Hon jisalo of Garki.

This is way means  the present government has kepr to their political promises to the native  and also shows that this government is strongly with the people of fct and many more opportunities are coming.

But, for me I want to categorically said that our prayer is being answered and we appreciate Mr president for making a way for youth inclusion and taking one of us to trust him with an appointment to pilot the area council secretariat.

ZOKUTU COMMUNITY STORIES

 I visited zokutu community.

An anonymous gave his experienced speech as at the time of scarsity of water and suffering in their community and what happened to him.

" I want to start by my name, I'm (anonymous) from zokutu community.

During the time of us staying without water in our community, I have the most Terrible and traumatic time those days, what causes that was that I lost my son, due to chorleala disease and it was as a result of taking the water we have which is the only water, it first came like a mere sickness, I took my son to the clinic here in our community which doesn't have enough staff .there was only one staff who told me that I should go to the general hospital in Abaji area council which is 20km away from zokutu community.

It was early hours when I took him to the hospital and we waited for him the Doctor to come, after several minutes and hours of waiting, he finally came and give us that directive, he said it is due to this our water we are taking, take him to the general hospital.

Before we got there me and my wife, he gave up on the way.

I couldn't hold my tears and my wife too.

So Terrible and unfortunate event that happened that day to us.

What shall we do now ?

He ask and there was no answer anywhere.

That is the wound that keep occurring to us whenever I think of that and the suffering we go through here in the community."

Miss Hossana who's a student also narrated her own experienced in the community.

As a student, I'm currently in SSS3 now said " my name is Hossana I'm a student of government Secondary School Ukya fct Abuja, I'm a science student and I want to study pharmaceutical science in my university level. During that time that we were suffering of water, I used to help my mom to go to the river stream to line up and que, I will wake up by 12am in the middle of the night in this quiet village and go to the stream, before I reach I will see some people already there waiting for their turn to get the water like that, some days I stay up to 10am in the morning and that will be during our break time in the school, that day I will missed the whole class of the morning own, some times I missed test in the school due to the way I'm looking for water for my parents and me, this affects my academic status and life in this my community, but I thank God now that we have good water and is accessible to us, my house not far from this new water we got, is just 50m away from my house"

Another woman, the community head wife who expressed herself of disappointed then said " my husband and I use to have serous issues then,.I will leave by 1am or 2am just to.make sure I first people in the river, but if got to the river I will see people full there, we kill snake more than 20 times in the river because its in the night they use to come out, we suffered too much on lack of access to good water".

Also

I engaged him although he's familiar with me already, and he was amazed by seeing me again.

I asked he how the experience was then when there was no water supply. In the community, he gave a general concern to talk about the entire community.

He said " when you first visited this community, I thought it was going to be like the other once too, many people have come and we were tired of them, AIT came and snap us, Channel came and snap us many other NGOs has come for the past 20 years, as then when we did not have water my wife and kid use to be the one suffering more, am a man I don't go to the river and I don't fetch water in the river, my wife go there and get us water, sometimes they go in the morning by 5am like Saturday and come back by 8pm, sometimes they go in the evening and line up my 8pm and come back by 12am in midnight.

They have to get water for us to use, sometimes we have to go as far as Abaji to buy water, one gallon 100 naira, and buy like 10 for the usage, we have seen hell in this community before, but we thank God that it won't be like that again." Said by the community head ( Asu Zokutu).

Women also responded with similar comments and issue, its just a matter of normality that they faced the same thing always.

She said " our small children are been the one affected more, when I was a kid I have passed through the same pain, the pain which we were used to it, this we don't feel it again, I will not sleep because of how we are struggling to get water, fulani people will still bring their cow and spoil the water for us, we would have no choice than to use sieve to filter the dirty, the water color then was as that of pap which they want to take" Mrs Kpashembwa moses woman leader Zokutu community.

They community people also appreciate the distinguish senator representing the fct Senatorial District for hearing our persistent cried about the water which has caused a lot of harm than good.

They said " we can not have access to good water, we are now happy with the development and God bless his office for doing this for us?

We in Zokutu community Will continue to pray for him to do more for other communities and the Lord to give him good health "
